You Can Rest

It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to not have your calendar filled with activities. It’s okay to say no. It’s okay to go at a slower pace.

I am runner. Actually, I should say jogger because my running pace is actually quite slow. When you run, you’re focused on getting to the finish line or running so many laps.

In life, you may be running to the next thing after the next. Or maybe you’re running to get away from something. Something the Father has been teaching me is that it’s okay to rest.

Take that time to just sit with Him. You don’t even have to say a word. Sometimes, we are afraid of the silence, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

We love being in His presence and I believe He also enjoys our presence. So today, I encourage you, take some time to grab a seat, and sit with Him.

Talk to Him. Laugh with Him. Cry to Him.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Revelation 3:20

Revelation 3:20 is one of my favorites. I love that Jesus always saves a seat for me. And He has saved you a seat, too.

Sometimes we just need to take some time and take a seat with Jesus. Sit. Reflect. Talk. Dine with Him.

Are you running? Maybe life has you so busy that you are constantly running and always on the go. Or maybe you’re running away from something you don’t want to confront.

Jesus has a seat for you. Always has, always will. Stop running, catch your breath, and just take a seat with Him. It’s okay to rest.
