I’ve found myself caught in more than one thunderstorm this summer. While I see the dark clouds looming ahead, I can still see the sunshine and blue skies hovering above. So without the umbrella, I venture forward in confidence. In a matter of minutes, the raindrops are pelting from the sky, and the storm clouds have overshadowed the bright skies. Have life’s storms ever drifted in much quicker than you anticipated? The good news is that our Creator of heaven and earth invites us to take cover under His canopy of care.
Even when I get drenched in a rain storm, I can’t help but to thank Him for the rain. As hot as it’s been, the raindrops are welcoming. Even in the storms and trials of life, I hope to remember that my Maker has everything under control. Thankfully, I can let the reigns of power go and choose to trust Him even if the storm clouds have rolled in.
Over all the glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.
Isaiah 4:5-6
Everything is under the canopy of God’s care. God, Himself, brings us relief and peace even in the heat of a trial. When we get caught in the rain and storms of life, God invites us to seek shelter in His arms. God cares. He sees the storms. He understands the pressure we may feel at times. Even if our cares seem so tiny, they matter to God. Giant or small, God gathers up all our cares and invites us to rest under His shelter.
As I watch the storm clouds roll in, I can’t help to be in awe of God’s wonder. Even in the storms, He shelters us. He covers us in a beautiful canopy of love and grace. As we embrace how big our God is, we can even jump with joy in the rain puddles, knowing that our Maker is with us the entire way.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Isaiah 40:22
We are covered in the heat of the summer sun and even under the raindrops of a thunderstorm. We have a Savior who cares so much that He stretches out His canopy of care over us. He gives us a home. His door is always open, inviting us to rest in His love and peace. And He even invites us to experience gladness and joy after the rains have passed.
As a little girl, I was always afraid of thunderstorms. As years have passed and as I have experienced God transforming my heart in so many ways, I no longer see the thunderstorm as a threat. When I get caught in a storm, I hope to cling to Him and always know I can take cover in the shelter of His arms.
Have the storm clouds drifted in before you could grab your umbrella? Seek His shelter.
Has the storm passed, and now you’re wondering what to do next? Dance in the puddles.
Friends, God cares. Even if we can see the storm clouds ahead, know that God is pitching a beautiful canopy and tent over you.
Soooo good!!! Thank you!
Love those verses! God’s glory covers us! So powerful and comforting!
