Dance Like No One is Watching

When you come to a place where you value the beauty of simply being you, you find freedom. Looking to the cross centers us on the truth rather than looking to the opinions of others. That freedom comes from Father God, who created you.

It’s okay to be you. Embrace who God has made you to be.

Jesus is awakening to me to find freedom in who I am to prepare me for something more. To see my worth in Christ not so much to go conquer the world, but to be able to rest in my very own skin. To be confidence enough to dance in joy and freedom not caring if anyone is watching.

Embracing simply being you can take a lot of bravery. While some around us blissfully seem to dance out who they are, for others, it takes courage. Whether you’re the one dancing in confidence or the one afraid to step out and dance, embrace the freedom within you.

And it’s okay if you’re not okay. It’s okay if you’re tired from the everyday ordinary. It’s okay if you feel stuck. It’s okay if you’re unsure. It’s okay if you don’t have anything to give when you’re always the one everyone comes to for advice. It’s okay if you don’t have it all together. It’s okay because Jesus has you.

It’s going to be okay because freedom is within you.

When we grasp the beautiful truth that the Holy Spirit is living within us, we can dance in freedom. Jesus is not just around us. He is within us and always near. And when we realize that, there’s unexplainable freedom that abounds.

We don’t have to stay not being okay. We can find freedom right within ourselves because of the greater One within us.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

2 Corinthians 3:17

The Spirit is the very breath of God. If you don’t have the courage to take the next step, or you can’t seem to catch your breath as you juggle life’s responsibilities, remember the One breathing in you. As you take a breath, the Holy Spirit breathes for you, He breathes with you.

It’s okay to let go. When we let go of the tears we’ve been trying to hold back, Jesus meets us with freedom. When we let go of rejection and insecurities, we find freedom. When we can see ourselves the way Jesus sees us, we can embrace who we are.

When we let go of worrying about others around us, we can dance like no one is watching.
