Everything Beautiful in its Time

Seasons often bring the new. We tend to anticipate what’s ahead for every season. Fall leaves, and everything pumpkin quickly fades away as we enter a season of Christmas joy and hopes for snow. Soon enough, we’ll be anticipating spring flowers and sunshine. Seasons come and go as we wait in expectation to embrace the new.

What about the seasons of life when we can’t anticipate the outcome? These seasons are perhaps the most difficult to endure. These are the seasons, though, where we belong in the arms of Jesus. In the weary seasons, we can find strength in Jesus. In seasons of sorrow, we can let the tears freely flow as we find comfort from our Savior. We can always find hope in the One who will always make a way for us even when the way seems hidden.

As I sat in a memorial service this past week to honor the life of a friend, sweet memories filled my heart. Hope dwelled in my heart as Scripture reminded me of how there is a time for everything.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven . . .

Ecclesiastes 3:1

As these verses were shared at the memorial service, I couldn’t help but for the tears to well up as I watched a family say goodbye far too soon to a daughter, sister, and friend. There is a time for everything, and this marks a season for a time to weep and mourn.

While we are all in the midst of a Christmas season, we’re all facing different seasons. Maybe you find yourself in a season of much joy with laughter or perhaps a season of difficult decisions and waiting. Whatever season we’re in, we can take heart in the hope of Jesus.

I find myself right in the middle of a season of letting go. Letting go and making decisions that dwell deep within my heart rather than the decision-makers of my mind. Letting go and trusting the Father for the new to come. Letting go and simply resting in the arms of Jesus.

I am finding the closer I am to Jesus, I can still stay in that season of joy despite the seasons that bring sorrow. My former self constantly dwelled in the season of “I can’t do this,” but now I see myself moving past the former and stepping in the future, even if it’s unknown, with peace and anticipation of the new. I am in a season of letting go, and while it’s incredibly tough, Jesus has graciously been right there in every moment. He is my hope in the waiting, the sorrows, and in the goodbyes.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Our Father God knows what He is doing. His plans are so much better than our own. He is the Master Creator who writes and illustrates a beautiful story for us all.

Even if you’re in a season of waiting, sorrow, or new beginnings, it’s a beautiful season that is part of your life connected to a Holy Father who is working out every detail. As we trust in Jesus for the season, we will see the beauty. He has made everything beautiful in its time.
