Have you ever wondered where your place in life is? We hear about purpose, and maybe we immediately begin to plan and think where we need to be. For a long time, I searched for my purpose. What has God called me to do? Where do I fit in?
Have we been searching for our “place,” not realizing that we’re already in our place?
I’m learning that my purpose is right here in front of me and actually within me.
It’s not so much about what you do. Maybe it’s more about simply being you.
When we meet Jesus in the depths of our hearts, we find the light. We find love. As we meet Him there in the deepest places of our hearts, we discover who we are. When we know who we are, we discover and embrace our purpose.
What I have discovered is that my view on purpose is shifting. What if purpose goes beyond a calling to a ministry or a particular career? What if our purpose is meeting ourselves in the depths? In those deep places, He calls us by name. He calls us loved. He draws us to our purpose that fits by design. That is where your true joys are, your dreams, your very being that makes you, you.
When we embrace the design that God has uniquely crafted in all of us, we can yield to the place He created just for us.
I talked with Jesus a few days ago about my purpose, my place, and what that looks like for me. My heart responded with a simple, beautiful truth. Pursue love.
What is the purpose of my place right now, at this very moment? Pursue love.
It’s that simple. Pursue love. Rather than looking at what I can do, I want to look at who I am. Because when I look at who I am, I find my heart’s desire and see how the Father has uniquely created me. And when I find that, I find my place. He placed me right here, right now, to pursue love.
Pursuing is to seek. It’s to go after and to follow.
Seek love. Go after love. Follow love.
Jesus is the perfect love to pursue. Follow Jesus. Follow love. Seek Christ. Seek love.
How can I pursue love in the ordinary moments of my every day? I’m going to pursue love by listening to a friend who is hurting. I will pursue love by placing my dreams in God’s hands. I’m going to pursue love by taking time to rest in the secret place. And I am going to focus on things that bring me joy.
How can you pursue love in your designed places?
May we explore and discover what makes our place here explode with joy. So friends, let’s embrace our design and pursue love. As we pursue love and go to the depths of our hearts with Jesus, I believe we’ll find purpose in the deepest place.
Oh Melanie, this is so rich! Yes, it is the true heart of Father to always pursue love! We get too worked up into what our purpose in life is and it has always been so simple. I will share this with a group of ladies I will be meeting with this morning. Thank you!
Deep word!!! Love this, sis!!!!
This is so good friend, as always. I love that you are gifting us with your writing.
Praying for you!
