Go broken? Yes, go broken. I think sometimes we want to be made perfect before we set out to go as His disciple, but the Father can use our brokenness now, right where we’re at.
The framed photo below sits on my desk. The print inside the frame used to be straight and not crooked, and the glass is cracked because I dropped it.

Even with its imperfections now, I still keep it on my desk, crooked and cracked. Sure, I can get another frame to replace the broken glass and straighten it up but I choose to keep it just as it is.
It reminds me of a couple of things.
First, it doesn’t need to be perfect to still have value.
Let those words sink into your heart. You do not need to be perfect to have value. Your Creator called you valued when He formed you. Even what you see as imperfection, He sees as purpose.
Second, Jesus will use you even in your brokenness.
Despite the broken glass, it still speaks the message, “Go.”
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
Matthew 28:19
Jesus chooses us. Jesus calls us. Jesus tells us to go, even in our brokenness.
When Jesus tells us to go, do we tend to want to make sure we are prepared and perfected? I know I do. We really want to get all our broken pieces put back together first and then we’ll go. But Jesus uses us just as we are, right where we are at.
Even His disciples were not perfect. Some even doubted. They were a work in the making yet Jesus chose them. He called them. He told them to go.
So, yes, go broken.
And in your brokenness, see how the Father is putting back the pieces together in His timing and allow Him to use your broken pieces as testimony when He says to go and share your story with someone.
Brokenness can be a beautiful thing.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart.
Psalm 51:17
The cracks in our vessels and our brokenness can bring us to a deeper place with the Father.
If we were perfect, we would rely on our own strength. Our brokenness allows us to go in faith, to truly trust the One who will lead us and guide us as His disciples.
So, yes friend, let’s go broken.

I really needed to see this today! Thank you! In my devo and prayer time this morning my focus was on getting more of God’s word in me so that I will be prepared to go. Your post reminded me to “keep going” as I am growing! Freeing! Thank you Melanie and thanks Lord!
This spoke to me a lot as I always try to be prepared yet feel so unprepared! Great reminder that God goes before me and will use everything…. even if it’s broken or a little cracked. Thanks for speaking life today, sis!!!!
