Merry Christmas, friends.

Whether or not you will sit around the table together with family or not this Christmas, the greatest gift you have at your table is Jesus Christ. I can just picture us sitting around the table together with the most honored guest, Jesus. And He is more than just a guest, really. He is our family. He gifts us with so much – His presence, His love, His peace.

While gifts under the tree from our family and friends are special, the greatest gift we have is Christ. Nothing compares to the gift of love and hope that lasts forever.

What is the greatest gift that Father God has given you this year?

Maybe it has been His comfort as you grieve the loss of someone this year. Maybe it has been His counsel during your dark moments that you don’t talk about. Maybe His greatest gift for you has been unspeakable joy. Or maybe He has given you a new perspective on how to be still and rest in Him.

The greatest gift to me this year has been that He has opened the eyes of my heart to truly see the pure love He desires for His daughter. He is renewing my mind and restoring my heart which is a gift I want to receive and hold onto.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

James 1:17

We have a gift from the Father that is eternal and unchanging. He gives a gift that is so worth holding on to. He never lets us go.

He gifts us with grace. Love. Forgiveness. Peace. Comfort. Counsel. And everything eternal.

This Christmas, remember the One who sits at the table with you. And reflect on the great gifts He has given you this year.

And know this, you are a gift to Him that He deeply treasures. Merry Christmas, and rejoice this Christmas because of Christ, your greatest gift.
