As I sat at a local college campus this past weekend, I couldn’t help but notice the abundance of white flowers that surrounded me. It was like a huge hug from my Father God.
We are always covered. He covers us with assurance. He covers us with peace. He covers us with love. He covers us with grace. Just as those flowers surrounded me, I knew the love of Jesus was surrounding me.
For a moment, I wondered what it would be like to actually walk through and take in the sight of the Garden of Eden. Eden was a place of splendor with flowing rivers, trees, rubies, emeralds, and so much more. I close my eyes and imagine I can see the splendor of the garden of our Father.
The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on her ruins; He will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD.
Isaiah 51: 3
We have the freedom to surrender our ruins and brokenness to Jesus and allow ourselves to be covered with the unfailing love and compassion of the Father. His covering is a place of refuge. It’s a refuge we can always go to, anytime, anywhere.
In the moments of the ruins, we have to trust that Jesus has us. He is waiting for our surrender, inviting us to sit and rest in the embrace of the Father. Sometimes we simply have to stop what we’re doing and sit in the garden of the LORD and allow His compassion and love to cover and embrace the broken places. Settle into His love.
For my friends who feel like they are in a desert right now, from my heart to yours, know that He can take your desert and make something beautiful.
Jesus is immovably yours. Even when you have to climb the mountains that come your way, Jesus climbs with you. Even in the heat and dryness of the desert, Jesus shelters you with shade and His living water will refresh you. He is constantly surrounding you and covering you.
We never have to stay in the wastelands. He has a beautiful garden of love and peace for us to walk into the fullness of. We can rest knowing that He covers us.
Maybe life has covered you with busyness, worries, and too much to try to manage. The wonderful thing is you have the freedom to hand that all to Jesus who so willingly receives your burdens. In return, He simply covers you with peace and love.
So for my friends today who find themselves in the desert today, can I encourage you that Jesus has you covered even in the dry season? I truly believe that He is inviting you to step into the garden that flows with rivers of His grace. Refreshing awaits and it’s yours.
His unfailing love and peace are yours. Jesus has you covered.

I have been sitting in the hospital with a dear friend and watching him walking in the garden with Jesus and the restoration coming into his soul as he prepares to pass into the very presence of Jesus.
