With spring finally arriving, there’s no better place to go than to a greenhouse full of flowers. As I entered the greenhouse full of green plants and flowers, I felt the warmth surrounding me. The warmth of the space was a great escape from the cold air outside. As I entered, I thought of how as we enter into the presence of God in our ordinary days, God is revealing the growth within us.
Leaving the cold and entering the warmth reminds me of the transitions and changes that we all encounter as we journey through our lives. While I can find a natural rhythm for some changes, others leave me searching to find my footing. Either way, I know all I have to do is entrust it to Jesus.
As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.
Genesis 8:22
Genesis 8 is a beautiful promise from God that brings much hope. God will never destroy all living creatures. There is also an assuring reminder that His times and seasons will never cease. In the midst of every season, God is always with us. While we endure the toughest changes in life, God is right there. While we wait for seeds to germinate, God is with us. When we celebrate in the harvest times of life, God rejoices with us.
Whether you find yourself in seedtime or harvest, or day or night, honor the Father, and honor yourself. Trust the Word that is hidden within your heart. Trust the beautiful work of God, no matter the outcome.
While some transitions are harder than others, we can get through anything by relying on the strength of our Creator. God designed the seasons and we see the transition process from fall, winter, spring, and summer.
Some transitions bring fast changes, while some are more progressive, evolving slowly. For those slower transitions, I am finding that grace enables me to get through the transition more easily. Of course, naturally, I would like to spring ahead but I imagine there is much to be learned through the slower pace.
Trust God in every season. Just as the seasons will not cease, God’s presence, grace, and love will not cease.
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people.
Psalm 125:1-2
We can trust that God will surround us in every transition. In every season, He covers us. In my personal journey of transitions and changes, I have discovered that every bump along the way is an invitation to grow. And as we grow, we may not always see the growth at first. We can’t see the seed deep within the ground in the germination stage, but we can trust that it is growing. And eventually, as we find a new rhythm in the changes we encounter, we will see buds and blossoms of potential and new life.
I loved the warmth and all the green that was in the greenhouse that I walked into on a cool day.
Imagine yourself as a greenhouse. Even if it may seem cold or dark on the outside, there is warmth to find on the inside. Inside, Christ dwells within us. So no matter what it looks like on the outside, the One within us brings warmth of the light shining within us. Covered in the warmth of Christ’s love, much is growing.
What is growing within you? Every day, we have opportunities to plant seeds. The seed can be small and still produce an abundance far greater than we can ever imagine. And while we may not see it for quite some time as the seed is in the germination stage, things are still growing.
In the wait and in the transitions of different seasons of life, there is always something growing as we trust in our Creator. As you walk through changes, enter in knowing that you are surrounded by the warmth of God’s care.
Love this! Staying in the greenhouse! 🙂 thankful how He always lets us grow!
Melanie, this is beautiful! This verse came to my mind as I was reading your blog. ”And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.“
Mark 4:26-27 NKJV. I love that it says we do not know how it grows, but it does! I see the seed of the Word growing in your heart in your greenhouse. It comes to blossom as you write! Thank you!
Remember your increase is 30, 60, and 100 fold!
That’s a beautiful verse, Barbara! You’re encouragement brings much life.
