Sacred Seeds That Yield Growth

Growth starts small. It all begins with a seed. You can’t see the seed deep within the ground. It’s dark yet safe, nestled in a sacred space.

I’m captivated by the beautiful words in Zechariah and the reminder of renewal that our Father brings. Perhaps it’s perfect timing for me to be encouraged by these words in this cold, winter month. Even under the dulled-colored ground, often covered in frost and maybe even some snow, seeds are waiting to spring up.

In the meantime, those seeds are forming in a beautiful way. That dark yet safe place is designing the sacred seed that will soon yield growth.

For there will be peace for the seed: the vine will yield its fruit, and the heavens will give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

Zechariah 8:12

“For there will be peace for the seed.” My soul came alive with this profound truth. The Father gives peace for the seed. He gives peace to us and those seeds we plant along our days become abounding fruit.

I want peace to dwell within me. I believe that peace will protect the very sacred seeds within me. If I am running around in a hurry or trying to rely on my strength, I’m going to miss the peace. There are plenty of times when I’m already in a sprint and soon realize it, slowing my pace.

That peace, the calm, those moments when we pause, is what allows peace to settle. And that settled peace is needed for the seed to grow that is deep within.

We have planted sacred seeds in hopeful anticipation for its yielding fruit.

What are your sacred seeds? Have you planted hope in a dream or desire? Have you invested your heart in something that hasn’t sprouted yet?

Growth will come. Harvest will abound.

Give space and time for the sacred seeds. There is peace for the seed. Jesus brings peace in cultivating and waiting.

Peace resides in the seed and there is peace in the sowing.

We have a Creator and Savior who desires for us to grow in peace every day. When dwelling with the Father, we can expect fruit, and fruit that will last. The dew of heaven will refresh us with hope.

And that dark place where the seed rests for a while is a safe place, a place of peace in the making. They are sacred seeds that yield growth.
