Who are your people? We all have our circles, tribes, and tables that include remarkable people with whom we confide and cherish. I love my table of people; small yet perfectly all I need. I also love the table when it’s just Jesus and me. Jesus is the One who will always circle your life. He is your very circle.
Unable to hold his excitement, my German Shepherd twists in constant circles. I love his circled excitement. While I may not twirl like my dog, I desire carefree joy to always dwell within me when I spend time in the center of God’s love. He is always inviting us into His circle.
We only need one, the One. The One who is our One and only. We still love the people intertwined in our lives, those we call “our people,” but we have the One we know who will always remain at the center of our circle.
There are times to gather. I will see my “table” of friends soon, and I can’t wait to hug their necks.
There are also times to gather alone with our Savior. I believe those are sacred moments. I treasure the times at the table when it’s just Jesus and me.
He knows us like no one else. He understands us fully and loves when we share our deepest thoughts with Him. I have found that while I can’t always fully explain my heart to my circle or table of “my people,” I can always share with Jesus, knowing He fully understands my heart completely.
His circle is always full of understanding and life. Despite trouble and oppression on earth, we have an Almighty God who cares so much for us that He gives us His words of life and covers us with the shadow of His hand. Can you picture that? Ever feel down or crushed? The shadow of His hand covers you.
For I am the LORD your God, who churns up the sea so that its waves roar – the LORD Almighty is his name. I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand – I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’
Isaiah 51:15-16
“You are my people.” God calls us His. He treasures time with us just as we treasure time with our circle of family and friends. There is no greater love than God’s love for His daughters and sons. I’m honored that God calls me His. I want to honor Him back and sit at the table with Him.
He has invited you to His circle, His table. Just as He marvelously sets the heavens in place, He sets a banquet table for you.
No time is wasted when we spend our time with Him. That’s a sacred time to fill your heart with goodness and love. The vessel I bring to others will be much brighter and stronger when I seek some time with Jesus first and foremost.
Whether you gather with your circle of family and friends or gather with just Jesus in the secret place today, may it be a sacred time. May the tears turn into laughter. May conversations turn into a deeper encounter with Christ. Or, maybe you’ll twirl in excitement. However it looks, I hope you find yourself right in the center of His love.
Live that scripture verse! Very powerful!
Jesus is the only one I can always truly trust in my circle at all times
Don’t know where Iād be without my Jesus circle as He is the Only One who truly knows me and loves me anyway. I have felt completely alone many times even in a crowded room but then I feel His presence and I know Iām not alone
