Make more space for the things you love. Even if it’s for the simple things like coffee. I was really excited to try a new coffee shop that opened up in my small town. The coffee and space warmed my heart with a welcoming atmosphere of peace.
Welcome in space for what you love. You know, those things that bring refreshment to your soul? Spend time there. Make space. You will be glad you did.
My week was filled with several deadlines but I also knew my soul needed refreshing. Even with busy schedules, it’s okay to make time for ourselves. Maybe life doesn’t always make a way to have an entire morning or afternoon, but an hour or even a few minutes can make a difference.
Joy filled my soul by simply getting to try a new space. Sometimes we need to give space for new things. For me, it was visiting the new coffee shop.

And I must say, it was refreshing to take a few minutes to stop and rest after a week full of many deadlines. There is always room for coffee no matter how busy a week may be!
The coffee was amazing. And just as amazing as the coffee was the space. The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for me to make space to take a deep breath after a busy week and just rest. It even gave me space to reflect on the dreams God has placed in my heart. Sometimes we need to get away from our ordinary routines to welcome a new perspective. And sometimes we simply need a break from the busyness of life.
Here is what I am learning that helps me accomplish more. Grace. The Father gives me the grace to accomplish what needs to be finished. And I can show myself grace for what may go unfinished.
His grace is with us even when our calendars are full. And it’s okay to take some things off of your calendar. Sometimes less is more. Because when we have less to do, we have more time for our souls. And when we give time for our souls, we are going to be better all around.
He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.
Proverbs 18:19
Whether darkness or busyness tries to hold us down, we can always have a place of peace with Jesus.
So many things can fill up the space of our lives. Maybe in our homes. Clutter can accumulate, especially in the busyness of life. For me, that means doing a “spring clean” to get rid of what I don’t need so I can make my home a peaceful place.
Or perhaps it’s in your calendar. As I have shared before, sometimes we get way too many “dots” on our calendars. Make some room by removing some of them.
Or could it be too much occupying your mind? Our minds can be a busy place with all of our thoughts. Finding that quiet place with Jesus can really help us reset and renew our minds.
Make space to dream. Make space to reflect. Make space to rejoice. Make space for Jesus, who says you are loved!
Sitting in that new coffee shop this past week not only allowed me to slow down after a busy week, but it was a time of deep reflection. Hope sparked joy within my heart as I thought of my dreams deep within my heart.
Begin to make space for yourself. Begin to trust Jesus for those dreams in your heart. Or begin to give yourself more time for . . . you. Be refreshed as you try a new space.
