Spiders. Eeeekkkk. They make me jump, squeal, and sometimes run. Spiders are not my friend but we’re going to talk about them today. We’re going to say nice things though, with a heart of love. (Even though I really don’t like spiders).
Spider webs seem to be everywhere right now. They’re all over my porch and lawn. I’ve walked right through their webs and even my dog had a web all over his nose the other day. And the spiders, they’re everywhere, too. When I encounter a spider, I don’t know who is running for cover faster, me or the spider.
But the other morning, instead of running, I had to pause and stop to admire the creative work that a spider had created on my entire window.
The morning sunlight was shining on the spider’s creative masterpiece. It sparkled with the light.
Spider webs may seem ordinary and even a little creepy. But the web displayed throughout my window caused me to pause and reflect.
While there was one perfectly crafted spider web in the corner of the window that looked thought out and well planned, the rest of the window was scattered with lines of a web that looked unplanned and messy.
I wonder how long it took the spider? And why was there one perfect web and the rest was so scattered? Most of the scattered lines of the web looked like something a small child would design on an etch-a-sketch.
Nontheless, both designs intrigued me.
Here is what we can glean from a spider web. So simple, yes but I believe our Father God can speak to us through His creation and even through the most ordinary things. We can learn from His wonder.
Your life is weaved with wonder and much love from the Father.
What is He weaving in your heart today? Maybe you know the next steps and Holy Spirit is filling you with wisdom to know which way to go.
Or maybe you feel like the scattered web. Can I just suggest that is not necessarily a bad thing?
If it’s your mind that feels scattered, be encouraged and know that God can renew every thought. Our worried thoughts can be transformed with a mind of wisdom and truth.
While the web in the corner of my window appeared perfect and planned, the scattered web across the rest of the window sparked a smile. I laughed at the thought of little kid spiders running around in adventure!
Why not us, too? We don’t always have to have it all together. Everything isn’t always going to be planned. It’s not going to be perfect, and that’s okay.
So why not just go with the flow, wherever and however Jesus leads you, and accept whatever it looks like! Take in the beauty of it. Embrace the wonder of it all.
The Father of Heaven weaved and created your life beautifully and on purpose.
For You created my innermost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Psalm 139:13
He knit you together. He created your innermost being and knows your every thought. What is He weaving in your heart today?
The spider outside my window knit that web for a purpose. A little spider that usually makes me run made me reflect today. It’s weaving new sight.
How beautifully written, Mel. I stand amazed at your spiritual insight and the “weaving” a word picture for us that reveals God and His handiwork. You are such a blessing!
Love it Melanie! Let’s be baby spiders just running with the wind of Holy Spirit with not a care in the world! I believe even in our childlikeness and our immaturity He can weave in and through us the most amazing things. Thank you for your insight! I will watch these spiders with a more childlike eye!
What a great reflection!!!
Loved it!!
Thank you Mel, such a good reminder how He has created each of us different and yet each with a purpose and a plan, His plan!!
