Ever wonder how children can ask so many questions? While we may want to stop the little girl or boy from constantly asking questions, those little humans are full of wonder and always seeking answers. It’s part of their nature to abound with all the wonder and the whys. That was us, too, as a child. That questioning nature within us as a child is still with us here and now. What are some questions you are pondering asking? A question I have been asking evolved from Isaiah, and so has been my prayer – “Father, what is Your best for me?”
I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.
Isaiah 48:17
God will teach us what is best for us. So today, let’s ask Him, “Father, what is your best for me?” I believe we find the best when we ask.
Asking questions is not a nuisance. The right questions lead us to find answers. When we don’t know, we should ask. While some of my questions are “why this” or “why that,” I’m trying to ask differently so I can grow toward His best for me.
Have a friend that is a little quiet lately? Reach out and kindly ask if she is okay or see how you can be an encouragement. Need to slow down but have too many demands on your day? Ask yourself what can wait today. Have to make a significant decision? Ask the Father to guide you in the way you should go.
Ask and it will given to you; seek and you find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; He who seeks find; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7
Ask. Seek. Knock.
Desire. Perceive. Pursue.
Jesus invites us to ask questions. God instilled desires deep within us, and what if it’s the very questions we ask that will lead us to the next stepping stone toward the best path? We can find the right, the wonder, and the truth in our questions. As we seek God in all things, we will perceive in light and love.
Growing up, I wouldn’t just walk into my neighborhood friend’s house. Even if she said to come on over, I would hesitate to walk in and instead would still knock first. Let’s be brave to knock on the door. When we knock, Jesus will always open the door. Jesus invites us to knock on the door boldly. Even more, He wants us to ask questions and bring our prayers to Him.
God will show us what’s best for us as we ask and seek. When the door opens, what will we find? If we knock on Jesus’ door, abounding in questions, He will be there to speak to us. And even if it’s not the door you expected to walk through, it will feel right when it’s God’s door.
What we decide to do with what Jesus speaks to our hearts is up to us. God wants nothing more than for us to receive truth and obey His best for us.
If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Isaiah 48:18
This verse from Isaiah prompted another question within me. Am I paying attention to what God is saying and teaching? I can easily overthink or get tuned in on what someone else has said, so I have to ask myself, am I listening to the One who matters most? I believe asking this question will help me become the best me, the best me designed by God so that I may have peace like a river.
What is the best for me? And you? That will constantly be evolving on our journeys as we continually ask and seek our Creator who knows best.
The Creator who always knows best knows the very best for you.
Thankful that He guides our steps! Great reminder to stop and pause… Making sure we are doing His best. Thanks for the encouraging words sis!!!!
